Services and Supports Offered at Hope

Families Helping Families

One of Hope’s newest endeavors, Creekside is an 8-plex designed as an intentional community with the focus of supporting families (couples with and/or without children & single parents) who experience disabilities.  In additional to assisting families to learn and complete activities of daily living, there is an intense focus on relationships, familial roles, and parenting skills.  These are addressed through classes and natural interactions that occur throughout each day, while intentionally giving back in meaningful ways to their community.

The Basics

Helping an individual in finding their essence and assisting them in the journey towards their dreams is really what Hope is all about.

Recognizing that each individual is unique and that his or her life dreams and needs for support vary is the foundation of service delivery at Hope.  We continually strive to develop unique services and supports to meet those needs and dreams throughout an individuals live span.

Today, in Alaska, people who experience disabilities are living in a multiplicity of settings.  As families request its services, Hope has moved into communities throughout Alaska, allowing families to remain intact and to receive services in the community of their choice.  Currently, over 50% of those supported at Hope are receiving services at home.

Dependent upon the person’s age, staff will work with the family, advocates or other appropriate people to help find housing, develop in-home assistance, secure employment or develop community activities that are meaningful and important to the person supported.  Living a full life is the ultimate goal.
