Each year, people across Alaska use Pick.Click.Give. to support the nonprofits they care about. That generosity adds up to something powerful. For Alaskans who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities, it creates opportunities to live full, meaningful lives within their homes, near their families, and in their communities of choice.

Hope's primary funding source is Medicaid, which helps cover essential services and supports. But like many people's health insurance, it only pays for the basics—and reimbursement rates often fall short of the true cost of care. Many of the things that help people live truly rich and meaningful lives depend on donations, grants, and other philanthropic support.

That is where your Pick.Click.Give. pledge comes in.

We need your help to fund the things that Medicaid does not. This year, all donations will go toward improving accessibility in people's homes. Projects may include renovating kitchens and bathrooms, widening hallways, installing ramps, replacing flooring, and making other updates that will help people live more safely and comfortably in their homes.

You can make a HOPEful difference by helping us build entry ramps that will allow people who use mobility aids to move in and around their home more independently.

You can make a HOPEful difference by supporting installation of walk-in showers that provide greater safety and dignity in people's daily routines.

You can make a HOPEful difference by funding the replacement of worn or uneven flooring, reducing trip hazards and making it easier for people to move safely through the home.

You can make a HOPEful difference by helping ensure people are not only receiving basic services, but also living in homes that are tailored and well-suited to their needs.

The deadline to apply for your PFD is coming up soon on March 31, please take a moment to include a Pick.Click.Give. gift to Hope. If you’ve already filed for your PFD, it’s not too late—you can still add or update your Pick.Click.Give. donation anytime before August 31 by visiting pfd.alaska.gov and selecting the green ‘Add or change your Pick.Click.Give. donation’ button. Pledges start at just $25, and even small changes to a person's home can make a big difference in their daily life.
