Hope Studios

Artists within the community who experience a developmental disability often do not have an avenue or opportunity to express themselves artistically. As a program operated through Hope, the mission of Hope Studios is to provide artists the space and opportunity to create while allowing them to explore their form of self-expression through different mediums. It is also our mission to elevate the talents that develop through self-expression to becoming a viable part of the art community in Anchorage. We believe that it is possible to enhance the quality of life through participation in the arts.

Hope Studios is a lively studio that celebrates the human spirit through creativity and ingenuity. It is a space where artists can explore individual interests while creating a final work through a collaborative art model. Our creative team, made up of people with and without developmental disabilities, work together to try different mediums and pull everyone’s skills together. The artists that participate in the program are the creative drivers and conceptualize all that the Studio produces. Our staff and volunteers simply ensure that the concept comes to life the way the artist wants it to.

Hope Gallery

Through an inclusive, collaborate approach to the arts, Hope Studios produces a wide range of joyful and colorful artwork that has been exhibited throughout Anchorage and is sold in our adjoining Gallery. The Z.J. Loussac Public Library in Anchorage also features a permanent installation of our artists' work. The art produced by the Hope Studios artists is shared, shown and sold in many different venues, including our Gallery, local craft fairs, art shows, conferences, and art events. The Hope Studios Gallery is open daily to the public and is a great place to look for unique gifts and fine art. We feature upcycled furniture, one of a kind wall art, jewelry, greeting cards, clothing, and other creative things.
