Our Kodiak recreation program runs year-round, Monday through Friday, and offers community-based activities such as arts and crafts, biking, gardening, cooking, swimming, hunting, fishing, boating, skiing, hiking, karaoke, games, barbecues, and much more. Whatever your interests, we have opportunities for individuals of all ages and abilities to experience all that Kodiak has to offer!

Little Bears Afterschool Program

Hope’s mission of support is based on an individualized approach, and we believe that each person has unique needs and must be the chief architect of their own future. By listening to the needs and dreams of the individuals and families who choose Hope’s supports, we are able to provide unique opportunities, create new living environments, and expand programs that encompass a full life. As a result, our community supports are as diversified and personalized as the dreams of each person.

The following supports are just a few of the offerings that can be uniquely designed for your child.

Community Integration and Inclusion: trips to the swimming pool, museums, movies, bowling, parks, and more.

Exploration and Creativity: learn and grow with accessible activities such as art, reading, fishing, gardening, games, biking, and scooter riding.

During the school year, the program operates Tuesday through Friday after school until 5:30 pm. The program operates Monday through Thursday in the afternoons during summer months.

How to Apply

Community members are invited to participate in the activities offered through Hope's Little Bears and adult recreation programs.

Rent our Space for your Event

Community members and organizations in the Kodiak area are welcome to rent Hope's recreation center for private parties, community activities, or other group gatherings. The center is available Monday - Friday from 8am - 12pm, and weekends from 8am - 10pm.

The interior space can accommodate up to 75 people. There is parking for 23 vehicles, including 2 handicap and 1 van space. The space includes tables and chairs, a microwave, refrigerator, and freezer. There are two wheelchair-accessible bathrooms.
