Angel BacherDirector of Human ResourcesAngel was raised in Alaska and has always been deeply connected to her home state. After leaving in 2006 to pursue higher education and explore corporate opportunities, she returned to Alaska following a decade in the lower 48 in order to raise her family, reconnect with her community, and find a community-based employer to bring more meaning to her work life. That's when her career at Hope began, and she has since held roles including Hiring Specialist, Recruiter, HR Business Partner, and HR Supervisor. Currently, she serves as the Director of Human Resources at Hope, where she oversees recruitment, hiring, benefits, and compensation while supporting the agency’s commitment to service delivery. Her dedication to the organization is driven by meaningful relationships, a strong alignment with Hope's mission, and its culture of leadership development and growth. Her work reflects her belief in the power of relationships and opportunities, and her deep connection to Hope's inclusive, community-focused values. Angel has a Master of Science in Accounting (MSAC) degree from DeVry University's Keller Graduate School. Her professional journey spans many years in human resources, in addition to over 15 years in finance and accounting. She holds a SHRM-CP certification and has been an active member of ASHRM since 2022, regularly contributing to the local chapter. Outside of her professional responsibilities, Angel volunteers at the MatSu Animal Shelter and with the MatSu School District as a parent volunteer. She has a vibrant family life with her husband, four kids, cats, and chickens. She enjoys gardening, baking, sharing jokes with her friends, hiking the picturesque trails of the Valley, and reading fantasy novels. Her days often start with a serene sunrise walk in downtown Palmer and end with her paddle boarding across the lakes in MatSu Valley. |
