Jenny Moore

Director of Community Engagement

Jennifer “Jenny” currently serves as the Director of Community Engagement, overseeing the Discovery Center Programming and Hope Studios. With an impressive array of roles she has taken on at Hope over the years—from Direct Support Professional to Behavioral Health Specialist to Care Coordinator to Mental Health Case Manager—Jenny’s expertise and experience in the field of developmental disabilities is vast. She has a deep understanding of the needs and challenges faced by individuals with developmental disabilities.

Jenny spent most of her childhood in southeast Asia. After completing high school in Singapore and the Philippines, she pursued a double major in art and psychology from Hope College in Holland, Michigan. She then relocated to Chicago to embark on her career in the field of developmental disabilities, which then led her to The Fairbanks Resource Agency in Fairbanks, Alaska. During that time, she did a tour of Hope’s assisted living homes in Anchorage and was impressed by their inclusive and individualized supports. She vowed to seek employment at Hope if she ever moved to Anchorage, both of which she accomplished in 1998.

In 2010, Jenny's passion for the arts and her belief in the transformative power of creative expression led her to establish ‘Hope Studios.’ With a mission of providing artists in the community who experience developmental disabilities with an environment to express themselves, she has successfully created a platform that allows individuals to enhance the quality of their lives through inclusive artistic participation.

Jenny is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys hiking, camping, paddleboarding, scuba diving, swimming, gardening, and traveling. Connecting with nature and seeking adventure in the great outdoors (especially during summer) bring her immense joy. She cherishes quality time spent with her family, including her dogs, considers herself a die-hard fan of The Walking Dead, and derives great pleasure from attending live music events, dancing, and indulging in her favorite food – french fries.
