Pam HawkinsDirector of Community Support Services (MatSu, Seward, Kodiak)Pam serves as the Director of and oversees the operations for three of Hope’s regions – Mat-Su, Kodiak and Seward. She joined Hope's team in 2001 as a supervisor, and prior to that, she worked in a variety of industries, including managing two Office Depot stores in Anchorage, working as a Bail Bondsman, Process Server, Dispatcher for the Alaska State Troopers, and teaching at Job Corp. From a young age, Pam saw the value of making a positive impact in the lives of others. At the age of 15, she began teaching swimming through Special Olympics and continued as a guardian for a special needs boy for 20 years. Her passion for helping others also led her to participate in Doctors Without Borders, where she embarked on a rewarding tour in Peru. Two of the core values at Hope that resonate strongly with Pam are individuality and inclusion. She believes in accepting people for who they are, rather than imposing expectations upon them, and she believes in keeping everyone involved within their community and fostering a culture of giving back. Originally from Oregon, Pam moved to the beautiful state of Alaska in 1990. In her free time, she enjoys tending to her hobby farm, which is home to bees, chickens, yaks, and dogs. |
